OWGA has, for many years, been managed by the Ohio Corn Growers Association. This partnership formed a few years ago to strengthen the orginizations as a cohesive voice in Congress and in the Ohio Statehouse. In the future there will be more opportunites for the two boards to come together to work on issues facing ALL grain farmers in Ohio.

About the Ohio Wheat Growers Association and the Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program

Board members of the Ohio Wheat Growers Association (OWGA) are key in the growing commodity organization in Ohio. The Ohio Wheat Growers Association Board, along with the newly-created Ohio Small Grains Marketing Program (OSGMP) Board are working to improve wheat production, wheat qualities and strengthen markets for wheat in Ohio and for exports.

Along with the newly-formed Ohio wheat, barley, oats and rye checkoff, your dues help fund educational programs in the state. The Ohio State University is researching ways to eliminate head scab and mycrotoxins; search for new wheat varities to grow in the state; and continue to market Ohio has a leader in soft red winter wheat production. OSGMP is able to fund programs such as research at OSU to create better crops and open new markets.
